Performance of MIMO systems in measured indoor channels with transmitter noise

چکیده
This study analyzes the impact of transmitter noise on the performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with linear and nonlinear receivers and precoders. We show that the performance of MIMO linear and decision-feedback receivers is not significantly influenced by the presence of transmitter noise, which does not hold true in the case of MIMO systems with precoding. Nevertheless, we also

Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization for Orthogonal STBC over Frequency-Selective MIMO-PLC channels
In this paper we propose a new space diversity scheme for broadband PLC systems using orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) transmission combined with single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). To apply this diversity technique to PLC channels, we first propose a new technique for combining SC-FDE with OSTBCs applicable to all dispersive multipath channels impaired by impulsive...
متن کاملTime Variation Characteristics of Mimo-ofdm Broadband Channels in Populated Indoor Environments
In this paper, the results and analysis of the measured data for multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) channels in indoor environment, in presence of pedestrian, are reported. The experiment used 4 sending and 4 receiving antennas and 114 OFDM sub-carriers for each transmission. The mean channel capacity and the dynamic range of the received power...
متن کاملOn Mode Adaptation for MIMO-OFDM-BICM Based on Measured Indoor Channels
This paper examines mode adaptation for MIMOOFDM-BICM systems. Our results are based on measured MIMO-OFDM channels in an indoor environment at 5 GHz. We demonstrate that a simple zero-forcing spatial multiplexing system using four transmitters and four receivers can achieve four times the SISO data rate over the real measured channels with less than 6 dB increase in SNR. We also observe that i...
متن کاملMeasured Capacities at 5.8 GHz of Indoor MIMO Systems with MIMO Interference
The capacity performances of two interfering flatfading MIMO links are determined based on measured channels. Time-multiplexing of the links (TDMA), that is, when the MIMO links take turns operating without interference, serves as our baseline case. To this, we compare the spatial-multiplexed case (SDMA), which allows both MIMO links to operate simultaneously. Under SDMA, both open-loop (no cha...
متن کاملGeometric Modelling of a Spatially Correlated Mimo Fading Channel
For a single antenna channel, Shannon’s classical capacity formula predicts a capacity increase of approximately 1 bit/cycle for every 3 dB increase in signal to noise ratio (SNR). Consequently in multiple antenna arrays, with n antenna elements, the increase in capacity can be in the order of the number of antenna elements, n more bits/cycle for each 3dB increase in SNR. This tremendous gain i...
